🍂The Door That Wasn’t There Yesterday🍂

Lexo was sure about one thing: that doorway had not been there yesterday. Still, this was Second Life, where ignoring mysterious places is practically against the rules. She climbed the old stone steps, the wind catching the curtain as she reached the top.  The forest behind her had suddenly gone very quiet. No birds. No footsteps. Nothing. Then she heard it. Knock. Knock. Knock.  Lexo froze. The problem? There was no door behind the curtain. She slowly turned around, trying to look brave while mentally checking how fast she could hit the teleport button. The curtain moved again.  Lexo took one careful step closer. And then “Meow.”  A tiny black cat walked out from behind the wall as if absolutely nothing strange had happened. Lexo stared at it. The cat stared back. “Seriously?!” The cat blinked once and disappeared down the stairs. Lexo decided she had experienced enough mystery for one afternoon.But as she turned to leave. Knock. Knock. Knock. This time, it came from upstairs.
